Description3-[(1,2,4A,5-tetramethyl-1,2,3,4,4a,7,8,8a-octahydronaphthalen-1-yl)methyl]-2,4-dihydroxyphenyl acetate belongs to the class of organic compounds known as phenol esters. These are aromatic compounds containing a benzene ring substituted by a hydroxyl group and an ester group. 3-[(1,2,4a,5-tetramethyl-2,3,4,7,8,8a-hexahydronaphthalen-1-yl)methyl]-2,4-dihydroxyphenyl acetate is found in Dysidea avara. 3-[(1,2,4A,5-tetramethyl-1,2,3,4,4a,7,8,8a-octahydronaphthalen-1-yl)methyl]-2,4-dihydroxyphenyl acetate is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
