| Description | Helonioside B belongs to the class of organic compounds known as coumaric acids and derivatives. These are aromatic compounds containing Aromatic compounds containing a cinnamic acid moiety (or a derivative thereof) hydroxylated at the C2 (ortho-), C3 (meta-), or C4 (para-) carbon atom of the benzene ring. [(2r,3r,4s,5s)-5-{[(2r,3r,4s,5s,6r)-6-[(acetyloxy)methyl]-3,4,5-trihydroxyoxan-2-yl]oxy}-3-hydroxy-4-{[(2e)-3-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)prop-2-enoyl]oxy}-5-(hydroxymethyl)oxolan-2-yl]methyl (2e)-3-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)prop-2-enoate is found in Heloniopsis orientalis, Persicaria perfoliata, Smilax bracteata and Smilax china. [(2r,3r,4s,5s)-5-{[(2r,3r,4s,5s,6r)-6-[(acetyloxy)methyl]-3,4,5-trihydroxyoxan-2-yl]oxy}-3-hydroxy-4-{[(2e)-3-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)prop-2-enoyl]oxy}-5-(hydroxymethyl)oxolan-2-yl]methyl (2e)-3-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)prop-2-enoate was first documented in 2008 (PMID: 18329678). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Helonioside B (PMID: 19898799). |
