Description3-Hydroxy-4-methyl-5-(prop-1-en-1-yl)-2,3-dihydrofuran-2-one belongs to the class of organic compounds known as butenolides. These are dihydrofurans with a carbonyl group at the C2 carbon atom. 3-hydroxy-4-methyl-5-(prop-1-en-1-yl)-3h-furan-2-one is found in Nemania serpens. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 3-hydroxy-4-methyl-5-(prop-1-en-1-yl)-2,3-dihydrofuran-2-one.
