These are heterocyclic compounds containing a saturated, aliphatic, five-membered ring where a carbon is replaced by an oxygen. 2-(5-ethenyl-5-methyloxolan-2-yl)-6-methylhept-5-en-3-one is found in Artemisia abrotanum, Artemisia absinthium, Artemisia herba-alba, Artemisia judaica, Artemisia maritima, Artemisia thuscula, Tanacetum sinaicum and Tanacetum vulgare. Davanone is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
