Description | Inosamycin B belongs to the class of organic compounds known as aminocyclitol glycosides. These are organic compounds containing an amicocyclitol moiety glycosidically linked to a carbohydrate moiety. There are two major classes of aminoglycosides containing a 2-streptamine core. They are called 4,5- and 4,6-disubstituted 2-deoxystreptamines. (2r,3s,4r,5r,6r)-5-amino-6-{[(2r,3s,4r,5s)-5-{[(1r,2r,3s,5r,6s)-3-amino-2-{[(2r,3r,4r,5s,6r)-3-amino-6-(aminomethyl)-4,5-dihydroxyoxan-2-yl]oxy}-5,6-dihydroxycyclohexyl]oxy}-4-hydroxy-2-(hydroxymethyl)oxolan-3-yl]oxy}-2-(aminomethyl)oxane-3,4-diol is found in Streptomyces hygroscopicus. (2r,3s,4r,5r,6r)-5-amino-6-{[(2r,3s,4r,5s)-5-{[(1r,2r,3s,5r,6s)-3-amino-2-{[(2r,3r,4r,5s,6r)-3-amino-6-(aminomethyl)-4,5-dihydroxyoxan-2-yl]oxy}-5,6-dihydroxycyclohexyl]oxy}-4-hydroxy-2-(hydroxymethyl)oxolan-3-yl]oxy}-2-(aminomethyl)oxane-3,4-diol was first documented in 1985 (PMID: 4066486). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Inosamycin B (PMID: 4066487). |
