Description | Gamma-Muurolene, also known as γ-muurolene, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as sesquiterpenoids. These are terpenes with three consecutive isoprene units. Gamma-Muurolene is possibly neutral. Gamma-Muurolene is a herbal, spice, and woody tasting compound. Outside of the human body, gamma-Muurolene is found, on average, in the highest concentration within a few different foods, such as wild carrots, carrots, and rosemaries and in a lower concentration in common oregano, safflowers, and orange mints. Gamma-Muurolene has also been detected, but not quantified in, several different foods, such as sweet bay, sweet basils, cloves, oats, and guava. 4-isopropyl-6-methyl-1-methylidene-3,4,4a,7,8,8a-hexahydro-2h-naphthalene is found in Abies pinsapo, Achillea millefolium, Ageratum conyzoides, Aloysia citrodora, Alpinia chinensis, Alpinia latilabris, Alpinia zerumbet, Angelica archangelica, Anthemis aciphylla, Araucaria araucana, Aristolochia debilis, Aristolochia elegans, Artemisia monosperma, Artemisia salsoloides, Artemisia vulgaris, Artemisia xerophytica, Asarum gusk, Aster scaber, Asteriscus sericeus, Baccharis darwinii, Baccharis dracunculifolia, Baccharis sagittalis, Bazzania tridens, Bellis perennis, Bidens bipinnata, Bunium persicum, Bupleurum acutifolium, Bupleurum gibraltaricum, Callitropsis nootkatensis, Calypogeia muelleriana, Cananga odorata, Cannabis sativa, Hyptis spicigera, Cassinia longifolia, Cassinia uncata, Cedrela odorata, Cedrus libani, Centratherum punctatum, Chamaecyparis pisifera, Chromolaena odorata, Chrysanthemum indicum, Cinnamomum burmannii, Cinnamomum verum, Citrus reticulata, Citrus sinensis, Cleistopholis patens, Clinopodium brownei, Commiphora sphaerocarpa, Copaifera langsdorffii, Cotinus coggygria, Croton conduplicatus, Cryptomeria japonica, Cryptoporus volvatus, Cymbopogon flexuosus, Cymbopogon martinii, Daniellia oliveri, Dendropanax trifidus, Dumortiera hirsuta, Ekimia bornmuelleri, Elsholtzia fruticosa, Elsholtzia pilosa, Entandrophragma cylindricum, Eremanthus arboreus, Erigeron canadensis, Erigeron philadelphicus, Eucalyptus globulus, Frullania incumbens, Frullania tamarisci, Garcinia mangostana, Grindelia pulchella, Hebeclinium macrophyllum, Hedychium spicatum, Helichrysum italicum, Helichrysum odoratissimum, Heracleum dissectum, Hexalobus crispiflorus, Homalomena occulta, Humulus lupulus, Hyptis glomerata, Iris tectorum, Juniperus comitana, Juniperus communis, Juniperus drupacea, Juniperus durangensis, Juniperus monticola, Juniperus oxycedrus, Lantana camara, Lantana xenica, Larix gmelinii, Larix gmelinii, Larix sibirica, Lavandula angustifolia, Lavandula latifolia, Lavandula stoechas, Lepechinia chamaedryoides, Lepechinia floribunda, Lepechinia urbanii, Leptospermum scoparium, Liquidambar styraciflua, Matricaria chamomilla, Melaleuca quinquenervia, Mentha aquatica, Mentha piperita, Microglossa pyrifolia, Micromeria croatica, Micromeria maderensis, Mosla chinensis, Nicotiana tabacum, Ocimum gratissimum, Origanum acutidens, Origanum cordifolium, Origanum dictamnus, Origanum majorana, Origanum vulgare, Pelargonium endlicherianum, Pelargonium quercifolium, Pelargonium vitifolium, Persea americana, Petroselinum crispum, Phyla dulcis, Picea abies, Picea glehnii, Picea koraiensis, Pimenta racemosa, Pinus pumila, Pinus sibirica, Pinus sylvestris, Piper aduncum, Piper gaudichaudianum, Piper obliquum, Platostoma africanum, Polygala senega, Prumnopitys ferruginoides, Pseudobrickellia brasiliensis, Pseudotsuga menziesii, Psiadia altissima, Pycnanthemum floridanum, Salvia caespitosa, Salvia cuspidata, Salvia dorisiana, Salvia fruticosa, Salvia munzii, Salvia rosmarinus, Santolina chamaecyparissus, Sassafras albidum, Scapania undulata, Schistochila aligera, Scytosiphon lomentaria, Sequoiadendron giganteum, Shorea robusta, Solanum tuberosum, Solidago canadensis, Stevia rebaudiana, Syzygium aromaticum, Syzygium cumini, Syzygium nervosum, Tagetes lucida, Tamarindus indica, Tanacetum millefolium, Telanthophora grandifolia, Teucrium cyprium, Teucrium polium, Teucrium scorodonia, Thapsia villosa, Thymus marschallianus, Tithonia diversifolia, Trigonella foenum-graecum, Vitex agnus-castus, Vitex negundo, Zanthoxylum bungeanum, Zanthoxylum zanthoxyloides and Zingiber officinale.
