Description10-Hydroxyoleuropein belongs to the class of organic compounds known as terpene glycosides. These are prenol lipids containing a carbohydrate moiety glycosidically bound to a terpene backbone. methyl (4s,5e,6s)-4-{2-[2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)ethoxy]-2-oxoethyl}-5-(2-hydroxyethylidene)-6-{[(2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-4,6-dihydropyran-3-carboxylate is found in Fraxinus angustifolia, Fraxinus uhdei, Jasminum multiflorum, Ligustrum obtusifolium, Ligustrum sinense, Ligustrum vulgare, Osmanthus fortunei, Osmanthus fragrans and Osmanthus heterophyllus. methyl (4s,5e,6s)-4-{2-[2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)ethoxy]-2-oxoethyl}-5-(2-hydroxyethylidene)-6-{[(2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-4,6-dihydropyran-3-carboxylate was first documented in 2009 (PMID: 19833363). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 10-Hydroxyoleuropein.
