| Description | N-benzoyl-4-methoxyanthranilic acid, also known as 2-(benzoylamino)-4-methoxybenzoic acid, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as benzanilides. These are aromatic compounds containing an anilide group in which the carboxamide group is substituted with a benzene ring. They have the general structure RNC(=O)R', where R,R'= benzene. 2-{[hydroxy(phenyl)methylidene]amino}-4-methoxybenzoic acid is found in Dianthus caryophyllus. N-benzoyl-4-methoxyanthranilic acid is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). |
