Description | 2-(3,4-Dimethoxyphenyl)-3a,7a-dimethoxy-3-methyl-5-(prop-2-en-1-yl)-2,3,3a,6,7,7a-hexahydro-1-benzofuran-6-one belongs to the class of organic compounds known as dimethoxybenzenes. These are organic aromatic compounds containing a monocyclic benzene moiety carrying exactly two methoxy groups. 2-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-3a,7a-dimethoxy-3-methyl-5-(prop-2-en-1-yl)-3,7-dihydro-2h-1-benzofuran-6-one is found in Piper hymenophyllum and Piper kadsura. 2-(3,4-Dimethoxyphenyl)-3a,7a-dimethoxy-3-methyl-5-(prop-2-en-1-yl)-2,3,3a,6,7,7a-hexahydro-1-benzofuran-6-one is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). |
