| Description | (R)-Byakangelicin 3'-glucoside belongs to the class of organic compounds known as 5-methoxypsoralens. These are psoralens containing a methoxy group attached at the C5 position of the psoralen group (R)-Byakangelicin 3'-glucoside is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). Outside of the human body, (R)-Byakangelicin 3'-glucoside has been detected, but not quantified in, a few different foods, such as fats and oils, green vegetables, and herbs and spices. 9-(2-hydroxy-3-methyl-3-{[3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}butoxy)-4-methoxyfuro[3,2-g]chromen-7-one is found in Angelica archangelica. This could make (R)-byakangelicin 3'-glucoside a potential biomarker for the consumption of these foods. |
