DescriptionSibiricaxanthone F belongs to the class of organic compounds known as xanthones. These are polycyclic aromatic compounds containing a xanthene moiety conjugated to a ketone group at carbon 9. Xanthene is a tricyclic compound made up of two benzene rings linearly fused to each other through a pyran ring. (2s,3r,4r,5s,6s)-2-[(6,8-dihydroxy-2,7-dimethoxy-9-oxoxanthen-3-yl)oxy]-5-hydroxy-6-methyl-4-{[(2s,3r,4r,5r,6s)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-methyloxan-2-yl]oxy}oxan-3-yl acetate is found in Polygala sibirica. (2s,3r,4r,5s,6s)-2-[(6,8-dihydroxy-2,7-dimethoxy-9-oxoxanthen-3-yl)oxy]-5-hydroxy-6-methyl-4-{[(2s,3r,4r,5r,6s)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-methyloxan-2-yl]oxy}oxan-3-yl acetate was first documented in 2011 (PMID: 21803667). Based on a literature review a small amount of articles have been published on Sibiricaxanthone F (PMID: 22819207) (PMID: 22667146).
