Hydroxycinnamic acids and derivatives are compounds containing an cinnamic acid (or a derivative thereof) where the benzene ring is hydroxylated. 1-[5-hydroxy-2-methyl-2-(4-methylpent-3-en-1-yl)-3,4-dihydro-1-benzopyran-8-yl]-3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)prop-2-en-1-one is found in Angelica keiskei. 1-[5-Hydroxy-2-methyl-2-(4-methylpent-3-en-1-yl)-3,4-dihydro-2H-1-benzopyran-8-yl]-3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)prop-2-en-1-one is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
