Description(2S)-1-O,2-O-Dipalmitoyl-3-O-[6-O-(3-O-palmitoyl-alpha-D-galactopyranosyl)-beta-D-galactopyranosyl]glycerol belongs to the class of organic compounds known as 3-o-beta-d-digalactosyl-sn-glycerols. These are glycosylglycerols carrying a beta-D-digalactose at the 3-position of the glycerol moiety. (2s)-1-(hexadecanoyloxy)-3-{[(2r,3r,4s,5r,6r)-6-({[(2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-4-(hexadecanoyloxy)-3,5-dihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}methyl)-3,4,5-trihydroxyoxan-2-yl]oxy}propan-2-yl hexadecanoate is found in Lycium barbarum. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on (2S)-1-O,2-O-Dipalmitoyl-3-O-[6-O-(3-O-palmitoyl-alpha-D-galactopyranosyl)-beta-D-galactopyranosyl]glycerol.
