Description1-[3-(4-Methoxyphenyl)prop-2-enoyl]pyrrolidin-2-one belongs to the class of organic compounds known as cinnamic acids and derivatives. These are organic aromatic compounds containing a benzene and a carboxylic acid group (or a derivative thereof) forming 3-phenylprop-2-enoic acid. 1-[3-(4-methoxyphenyl)prop-2-enoyl]pyrrolidin-2-one is found in Piper sarmentosum. 1-[3-(4-Methoxyphenyl)prop-2-enoyl]pyrrolidin-2-one is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
