Description | 5,4'-Dihydroxy-7-O-prenylflavanone belongs to the class of organic compounds known as flavanones. Flavanones are compounds containing a flavan-3-one moiety, with a structure characterized by a 2-phenyl-3,4-dihydro-2H-1-benzopyran bearing a ketone at the carbon C3. Thus, 5,4'-dihydroxy-7-O-prenylflavanone is considered to be a flavonoid lipid molecule. 5-hydroxy-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-7-[(3-methylbut-2-en-1-yl)oxy]-2,3-dihydro-1-benzopyran-4-one is found in Vepris nobilis. 5,4'-Dihydroxy-7-O-prenylflavanone is a very hydrophobic molecule, practically insoluble (in water), and relatively neutral. |
