| Description | Manglieside D belongs to the class of organic compounds known as stilbene glycosides. Stilbene glycosides are compounds structurally characterized by the presence of a carbohydrate moiety glycosidically linked to the stilbene skeleton. (2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-2-{2-[1-hydroxy-3-(3-hydroxy-5-methoxyphenyl)propan-2-yl]-4-[(1e)-3-hydroxyprop-1-en-1-yl]-6-methoxyphenoxy}-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxane-3,4,5-triol is found in Magnolia chevalieri. (2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-2-{2-[1-hydroxy-3-(3-hydroxy-5-methoxyphenyl)propan-2-yl]-4-[(1e)-3-hydroxyprop-1-en-1-yl]-6-methoxyphenoxy}-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxane-3,4,5-triol was first documented in 2013 (PMID: 23954178). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Manglieside D. |
