Description2-(2,6-Dimethyl-4-oxo-3,4-dihydro-2H-pyran-2-yl)acetic acid belongs to the class of organic compounds known as dihydropyranones. Dihydropyranones are compounds containing a hydrogenated pyran ring which bears a ketone, and contains one double bond. (2,6-dimethyl-4-oxo-3h-pyran-2-yl)acetic acid is found in Potentilla anserina. 2-(2,6-Dimethyl-4-oxo-3,4-dihydro-2H-pyran-2-yl)acetic acid is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
