Description24,25-Dihydroxycycloartan-3-one belongs to the class of organic compounds known as cycloartanols and derivatives. These are steroids containing a cycloartanol moiety. (1s,3r,8r,11s,12s,15r,16r)-15-[(2r,5s)-5,6-dihydroxy-6-methylheptan-2-yl]-7,7,12,16-tetramethylpentacyclo[9.7.0.0¹,³.0³,⁸.0¹²,¹⁶]octadecan-6-one is found in Artocarpus heterophyllus and Gardenia aubryi. (1s,3r,8r,11s,12s,15r,16r)-15-[(2r,5s)-5,6-dihydroxy-6-methylheptan-2-yl]-7,7,12,16-tetramethylpentacyclo[9.7.0.0¹,³.0³,⁸.0¹²,¹⁶]octadecan-6-one was first documented in 2006 (PMID: 16643035). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 24,25-Dihydroxycycloartan-3-one (PMID: 17503850).
