DescriptionPinicolic acid D, also known as pinicolate D, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as triterpenoids. These are terpene molecules containing six isoprene units. (2r)-2-[(1r,3ar,5ar,7s,9as,11ar)-7-hydroxy-3a,6,6,9a,11a-pentamethyl-2-oxo-1h,3h,5h,5ah,7h,8h,9h,11h-cyclopenta[a]phenanthren-1-yl]-6-methylhept-5-enoic acid is found in Fomitopsis pinicola. It was first documented in 2020 (PMID: 31855822). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Pinicolic acid D.
