DescriptionMetacolchicine belongs to the class of organic compounds known as tropones. Tropones are compounds containing a tropone ring, which is a cycloheptatrienone ring bearing a ketone group. n-[(10s)-14-(hydroxymethyl)-3,4,5-trimethoxy-13-oxotricyclo[9.5.0.0²,⁷]hexadeca-1(16),2(7),3,5,11,14-hexaen-10-yl]ethanimidic acid is found in Sandersonia aurantiaca. n-[(10s)-14-(hydroxymethyl)-3,4,5-trimethoxy-13-oxotricyclo[9.5.0.0²,⁷]hexadeca-1(16),2(7),3,5,11,14-hexaen-10-yl]ethanimidic acid was first documented in 2017 (PMID: 28959419). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Metacolchicine.
