Description4-Methyl-7,11-heptadecadienal belongs to the class of organic compounds known as fatty aldehydes. These are long chain aldehydes with a chain of at least 12 carbon atoms. Thus, 4-methyl-7,11-heptadecadienal is considered to be a fatty aldehyde. (7z,11z)-4-methylheptadeca-7,11-dienal is found in Anthracocystis flocculosa. (7z,11z)-4-methylheptadeca-7,11-dienal was first documented in 1994 (PMID: 7931361). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 4-methyl-7,11-heptadecadienal.
