These are terpene compounds formed by four isoprene units. 5,7-dihydroxy-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-3-[3,5,7-trihydroxy-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-3,4-dihydro-2h-1-benzopyran-8-yl]chromen-4-one is found in Daphne feddei, Stellera chamaejasme and Wikstroemia indica. 5,7-Dihydroxy-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-3-[3,5,7-trihydroxy-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-3,4-dihydro-2H-1-benzopyran-8-yl]-4H-chromen-4-one is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
