Hydroxyanthraquinones are compounds containing a hydroxyanthraquinone moiety, which consists of an anthracene bearing a quinone, and hydroxyl group. 2,2',4,4',5,5'-hexahydroxy-7,7'-dimethyl-2h,2'h,3h,3'h-[1,1'-bianthracene]-9,9',10,10'-tetrone is found in Talaromyces brunneus. 2,2',4,4',5,5'-Hexahydroxy-7,7'-dimethyl-2H,2'H,3H,3'H,9H,9'H,10H,10'H-[1,1'-bianthracene]-9,9',10,10'-tetrone is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
