Description | Cadensin G belongs to the class of organic compounds known as phenylbenzo-1,4-dioxanes. These are benzo-1,3-dioxanes having a phenyl group attached to the 1,4-dioxane moiety. 7,9-dihydroxy-2-(4-hydroxy-3,5-dimethoxyphenyl)-3-(hydroxymethyl)-2,3-dihydro-1,4,5-trioxatetraphen-10-one is found in Hypericum chinense and Psorospermum febrifugum. Cadensin G is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). |
