Description8-Epikingiside belongs to the class of organic compounds known as o-glycosyl compounds. These are glycoside in which a sugar group is bonded through one carbon to another group via a O-glycosidic bond. methyl (1s,4as,8r,8as)-8-methyl-6-oxo-1-{[(2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-1h,4ah,5h,8h,8ah-pyrano[3,4-c]pyran-4-carboxylate is found in Citronella gongonha, Fraxinus formosana, Gentiana pyrenaica, Jasminum polyanthum, Lamium amplexicaule, Ligusticum lucidum, Ligustrum japonicum, Ligustrum lucidum, Picconia excelsa, Presliophytum incanum and Syringa vulgaris. methyl (1s,4as,8r,8as)-8-methyl-6-oxo-1-{[(2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-1h,4ah,5h,8h,8ah-pyrano[3,4-c]pyran-4-carboxylate was first documented in 2008 (PMID: 18470799). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 8-Epikingiside.
