These are phenylpropanoids containing the 2-phenylbenzofuran moiety. 2-(3,4-dihydroxy-5-methoxyphenyl)-5-(3-hydroxypropyl)-7-methoxy-1-benzofuran-3-carbaldehyde is found in Brosimum acutifolium. 2-(3,4-Dihydroxy-5-methoxyphenyl)-5-(3-hydroxypropyl)-7-methoxy-1-benzofuran-3-carbaldehyde is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
