These are polycyclic aromatic compounds containing a xanthene moiety conjugated to a ketone group at carbon 9. Xanthene is a tricyclic compound made up of two benzene rings linearly fused to each other through a pyran ring. 9-{[3,4-dihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)-5-methoxyoxan-2-yl]oxy}-3,7,20-trihydroxy-17-methyl-12,16,21-trioxapentacyclo[15.3.1.0²,¹⁵.0⁴,¹³.0⁶,¹¹]henicosa-2(15),3,6,8,10,13-hexaen-5-one is found in Aschersonia coffeae. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 9-{[3,4-dihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)-5-methoxyoxan-2-yl]oxy}-3,7,20-trihydroxy-17-methyl-12,16,21-trioxapentacyclo[15.3.1.0²,¹⁵.0⁴,¹³.0⁶,¹¹]Henicosa-2(15),3,6,8,10,13-hexaen-5-one. |
