Catechols are compounds containing a 1,2-benzenediol moiety. 5-hydroxy-2-(3-hydroxy-4-{[3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}phenyl)-3,6,7-trimethoxychromen-4-one is found in Chrysosplenium alternifolium and Chrysosplenium japonicum. 5-Hydroxy-2-(3-hydroxy-4-{[3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}phenyl)-3,6,7-trimethoxy-4H-chromen-4-one is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). |
