Description | 1-{2,4-Dihydroxy-3-[5-hydroxy-1-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-7-phenylhept-2-en-1-yl]-6-methoxyphenyl}-3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)prop-2-en-1-one belongs to the class of organic compounds known as curcuminoids. These are aromatic compounds containing a curcumin moiety, which is composed of two aryl buten-2-one (feruloyl) chromophores joined by a methylene group. 1-{2,4-dihydroxy-3-[5-hydroxy-1-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-7-phenylhept-2-en-1-yl]-6-methoxyphenyl}-3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)prop-2-en-1-one is found in Alpinia roxburghii. 1-{2,4-Dihydroxy-3-[5-hydroxy-1-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-7-phenylhept-2-en-1-yl]-6-methoxyphenyl}-3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)prop-2-en-1-one is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). |
