Description | Picrodendrin A belongs to the class of organic compounds known as prostaglandins and related compounds. These are unsaturated carboxylic acids consisting of a 20 carbon skeleton that also contains a five member ring, and are based upon the fatty acid arachidonic acid. (1's,2s,2'r,3's,4e,5'r,7'r,8's,9's,12'r)-2',12'-dihydroxy-4-(2-hydroxy-1-methoxyethylidene)-12'-isopropyl-8'-methoxy-7'-methyl-4',10'-dioxaspiro[oxolane-2,6'-tetracyclo[7.2.1.0²,⁷.0³,⁵]dodecane]-5,11'-dione is found in Picrodendron baccatum. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Picrodendrin A. |
