| Description | Piperenol C belongs to the class of organic compounds known as pentacarboxylic acids and derivatives. These are carboxylic acids containing exactly five carboxyl groups. Piperenol C is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). Outside of the human body, Piperenol C has been detected, but not quantified in, herbs and spices. [3,4,5,6-tetrakis(acetyloxy)cyclohex-1-en-1-yl]methyl benzoate is found in Piper cubeba. This could make piperenol C a potential biomarker for the consumption of these foods. |
