| Description | 11Alpha-hydroxymarinobufagin belongs to the class of organic compounds known as bufanolides and derivatives. These are steroid lactones containing a pyran-2-one moiety linked to the C17 atom of a cyclopenta[a]phenanthrene derivative. Thus, 11alpha-hydroxymarinobufagin is considered to be a sterol. 5-[(1r,2s,4r,6r,7r,9r,10s,11r,14s,16s)-9,14,16-trihydroxy-7,11-dimethyl-3-oxapentacyclo[8.8.0.0²,⁴.0²,⁷.0¹¹,¹⁶]octadecan-6-yl]pyran-2-one is found in Rhinella marina. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 11alpha-hydroxymarinobufagin. |
