| Common Name | [(2r,3s,4s,5r,6s)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-{[(1z)-5-methanesulfinyl-1-(sulfoimino)pent-4-en-1-yl]sulfanyl}oxan-2-yl]methyl (2e)-3-(4-hydroxy-3,5-dimethoxyphenyl)prop-2-enoate |
|---|
| Description | 6-Sinapoylglucoraphenin belongs to the class of organic compounds known as coumaric acids and derivatives. These are aromatic compounds containing Aromatic compounds containing a cinnamic acid moiety (or a derivative thereof) hydroxylated at the C2 (ortho-), C3 (meta-), or C4 (para-) carbon atom of the benzene ring. 6-Sinapoylglucoraphenin is a secondary metabolite. Secondary metabolites are metabolically or physiologically non-essential metabolites that may serve a role as defense or signalling molecules. In some cases they are simply molecules that arise from the incomplete metabolism of other secondary metabolites. [(2r,3s,4s,5r,6s)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-{[(1z)-5-methanesulfinyl-1-(sulfoimino)pent-4-en-1-yl]sulfanyl}oxan-2-yl]methyl (2e)-3-(4-hydroxy-3,5-dimethoxyphenyl)prop-2-enoate is found in Arabidopsis thaliana. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 6-sinapoylglucoraphenin. |
