| Description | Austocystin E belongs to the class of organic compounds known as 4-prenylated xanthones. These are organic compounds containing a C5-isoprenoid group linked to a xanthone moiety at the 4-position. Xanthone is a tricyclic compound made up of two benzene rings linearly fused to each other through a pyran ring that carries a ketone group. (4s,8s)-4,18-dihydroxy-15-(3-hydroxy-3-methylbutyl)-2-methoxy-7,9,13-trioxapentacyclo[10.8.0.0³,¹⁰.0⁴,⁸.0¹⁴,¹⁹]icosa-1,3(10),5,11,14,16,18-heptaen-20-one is found in Aspergillus ustus. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Austocystin E. |
