Description[2-(Hydroxymethyl)-3,4-dimethoxyphenyl]({4-methoxy-6-methyl-2H,5H,6H,7H,8H-[1,3]dioxolo[4,5-g]isoquinolin-5-yl})methyl acetate belongs to the class of organic compounds known as phenethylamines. Phenethylamines are compounds containing a phenethylamine moiety, which consists of a phenyl group substituted at the second position by an ethan-1-amine. [2-(hydroxymethyl)-3,4-dimethoxyphenyl]({4-methoxy-6-methyl-2h,5h,7h,8h-[1,3]dioxolo[4,5-g]isoquinolin-5-yl})methyl acetate is found in Papaver pseudo-orientale. [2-(Hydroxymethyl)-3,4-dimethoxyphenyl]({4-methoxy-6-methyl-2H,5H,6H,7H,8H-[1,3]dioxolo[4,5-g]isoquinolin-5-yl})methyl acetate is a very strong basic compound (based on its pKa).
