DescriptionRoccellic acid, also known as roccellate, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as long-chain fatty acids. These are fatty acids with an aliphatic tail that contains between 13 and 21 carbon atoms. roccellic acid is found in Roccella phycopsis and Roccellina hypomecha. roccellic acid was first documented in 2003 (PMID: 14613171). Based on a literature review a small amount of articles have been published on Roccellic acid (PMID: 25130294) (PMID: 22936837).
