DescriptionUrsolic aldehyde belongs to the class of organic compounds known as triterpenoids. These are terpene molecules containing six isoprene units. (1s,2r,4as,6as,6br,8ar,10s,12ar,12br,14bs)-10-hydroxy-1,2,6a,6b,9,9,12a-heptamethyl-2,3,4,5,6,7,8,8a,10,11,12,12b,13,14b-tetradecahydro-1h-picene-4a-carbaldehyde is found in Cydonia oblonga, Dracocephalum forrestii, Eucalyptus cladocalyx, Euptelea polyandra, Hippophae rhamnoides, Incarvillea arguta, Melaleuca ericifolia, Melaleuca leucadendra, Nerium oleander, Shorea robusta and Vitis vinifera. (1s,2r,4as,6as,6br,8ar,10s,12ar,12br,14bs)-10-hydroxy-1,2,6a,6b,9,9,12a-heptamethyl-2,3,4,5,6,7,8,8a,10,11,12,12b,13,14b-tetradecahydro-1h-picene-4a-carbaldehyde was first documented in 2011 (PMID: 22256756). Based on a literature review a small amount of articles have been published on ursolic aldehyde (PMID: 33583281) (PMID: 35668783) (PMID: 26672341) (PMID: 23668010).
