| Description | Neooleuropein belongs to the class of organic compounds known as terpene glycosides. These are prenol lipids containing a carbohydrate moiety glycosidically bound to a terpene backbone. 2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)ethyl (4s,5e,6s)-4-{2-[2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)ethoxy]-2-oxoethyl}-5-ethylidene-6-{[(2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-4,6-dihydropyran-3-carboxylate is found in Fraxinus chinensis, Jasminum multiflorum and Syringa vulgaris. 2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)ethyl (4s,5e,6s)-4-{2-[2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)ethoxy]-2-oxoethyl}-5-ethylidene-6-{[(2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-4,6-dihydropyran-3-carboxylate was first documented in 2018 (PMID: 29695965). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Neooleuropein. |
