Description5-Hydroxy-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-7-methoxy-8-[3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]-4H-chromen-4-one belongs to the class of organic compounds known as n-acyl amines. N-acyl amines are compounds containing a fatty acid moiety linked to an amine group through an ester linkage. 5-hydroxy-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-7-methoxy-8-[3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]chromen-4-one is found in Gnetum africanum, Iris germanica and Zantedeschia aethiopica. 5-Hydroxy-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-7-methoxy-8-[3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]-4H-chromen-4-one is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
