Description2-(4-Butanoyl-3,5-dioxooxolan-2-yl)acetic acid belongs to the class of organic compounds known as beta-diketones. These are organic compounds containing two keto groups separated by a single carbon atom. (4-butanoyl-3,5-dioxooxolan-2-yl)acetic acid is found in Penicillium dierckxii. 2-(4-Butanoyl-3,5-dioxooxolan-2-yl)acetic acid is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
