| Description | 7-Oxokhivorin belongs to the class of organic compounds known as naphthopyrans. Naphthopyrans are compounds containing a pyran ring fused to a naphthalene moiety. Furan is a 6 membered-ring non-aromatic ring with five carbon and one oxygen atoms. Naphthalene is a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon made up of two fused benzene rings. (1r,2r,4s,7r,8s,11r,12s,13s,15r,17s)-13-(acetyloxy)-7-(furan-3-yl)-1,8,12,16,16-pentamethyl-5,19-dioxo-3,6-dioxapentacyclo[9.8.0.0²,⁴.0²,⁸.0¹²,¹⁷]nonadecan-15-yl acetate is found in Khaya senegalensis. (1r,2r,4s,7r,8s,11r,12s,13s,15r,17s)-13-(acetyloxy)-7-(furan-3-yl)-1,8,12,16,16-pentamethyl-5,19-dioxo-3,6-dioxapentacyclo[9.8.0.0²,⁴.0²,⁸.0¹²,¹⁷]nonadecan-15-yl acetate was first documented in 2004 (PMID: 15351110). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 7-Oxokhivorin (PMID: 24609020). |
