| Description | Brandioside belongs to the class of organic compounds known as oligosaccharides. These are carbohydrates made up of 3 to 10 monosaccharide units linked to each other through glycosidic bonds. 5-(acetyloxy)-6-[2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)ethoxy]-4-[(3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-methyloxan-2-yl)oxy]-2-{[(3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-methyloxan-2-yl)oxy]methyl}oxan-3-yl (2e)-3-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)prop-2-enoate is found in Brandisia hancei, Callicarpa japonica and Callicarpa kwangtungensis. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Brandioside. |
