Description2-[(2Z)-3-hydroxy-4-[(2E,4R)-4-methyloct-2-enoyl]-5-oxo-2,5-dihydrofuran-2-ylidene]acetic acid belongs to the class of organic compounds known as butenolides. These are dihydrofurans with a carbonyl group at the C2 carbon atom. [(2z)-3-hydroxy-4-[(2e,4r)-4-methyloct-2-enoyl]-5-oxofuran-2-ylidene]acetic acid is found in Penicillium italicum. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 2-[(2Z)-3-hydroxy-4-[(2E,4R)-4-methyloct-2-enoyl]-5-oxo-2,5-dihydrofuran-2-ylidene]acetic acid.
