| Description | Swinniol belongs to the class of organic compounds known as triterpenoids. These are terpene molecules containing six isoprene units. (1r,3as,5ar,5br,7ar,8r,9s,11ar,11br,13ar,13br)-9-hydroxy-8-(hydroxymethyl)-5a,5b,8,11a-tetramethyl-1-(prop-1-en-2-yl)-hexadecahydrocyclopenta[a]chrysene-3a-carbaldehyde is found in Bersama swinnyi. (1r,3as,5ar,5br,7ar,8r,9s,11ar,11br,13ar,13br)-9-hydroxy-8-(hydroxymethyl)-5a,5b,8,11a-tetramethyl-1-(prop-1-en-2-yl)-hexadecahydrocyclopenta[a]chrysene-3a-carbaldehyde was first documented in 2010 (PMID: 21808572). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Swinniol. |
