DescriptionFaeriefungin A belongs to the class of organic compounds known as macrolides and analogues. These are organic compounds containing a lactone ring of at least twelve members. (3e,5e,7e,9e,11e,29e)-14,16,18,20,22,24,26,28-octahydroxy-32-isopropyl-15,31-dimethyl-1-oxacyclodotriaconta-3,5,7,9,11,29-hexaen-2-one is found in Streptomyces griseus and Streptomyces ruber. (3e,5e,7e,9e,11e,29e)-14,16,18,20,22,24,26,28-octahydroxy-32-isopropyl-15,31-dimethyl-1-oxacyclodotriaconta-3,5,7,9,11,29-hexaen-2-one was first documented in 1989 (PMID: 2509636). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Faeriefungin A.
