Naphthopyrans are compounds containing a pyran ring fused to a naphthalene moiety. Furan is a 6 membered-ring non-aromatic ring with five carbon and one oxygen atoms. Naphthalene is a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon made up of two fused benzene rings. (1r,4s,5r,16r,23r,26r,30s)-26-hydroxy-4,5,13,13,15,15,31,31-octamethyl-14,32,33-trioxa-7-azanonacyclo[28.2.1.0¹,²⁷.0⁴,²⁶.0⁵,²³.0⁶,²¹.0⁸,²⁰.0¹⁰,¹⁸.0¹¹,¹⁶]tritriaconta-6(21),8,10(18),11,19,27-hexaen-29-one is found in Penicillium shearii.
