| Description | 5-Ethenyl-13-methoxy-4-({6-methoxy-3H,4H,9H-pyrido[3,4-b]indol-1-yl}methyl)-7,17-diazatetracyclo[8.7.0.0²,⁷.0¹¹,¹⁶]Heptadeca-1(10),11(16),12,14-tetraene belongs to the class of organic compounds known as harmala alkaloids. Harmala alkaloids are compounds with a structure based on harmaline, harmine, harmalol, harman or a derivative of those parents. These parents are beta-carbolines, consisting of a pyrimidine fused to the pyrrole moiety of an indole to form a pyrido[3,4-b]indole. 3-ethenyl-9-methoxy-2-({6-methoxy-3h,4h,9h-pyrido[3,4-b]indol-1-yl}methyl)-1h,2h,3h,4h,6h,7h,12h,12bh-indolo[2,3-a]quinolizine is found in Cinchona calisaya. 5-Ethenyl-13-methoxy-4-({6-methoxy-3H,4H,9H-pyrido[3,4-b]indol-1-yl}methyl)-7,17-diazatetracyclo[8.7.0.0²,⁷.0¹¹,¹⁶]Heptadeca-1(10),11(16),12,14-tetraene is a very strong basic compound (based on its pKa). |
