Description2-[2-(5,7-Dihydroxy-8-methoxy-4-oxo-4H-chromen-2-yl)-3-hydroxyphenoxy]-4,5-dihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-3-yl 3-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)prop-2-enoate belongs to the class of organic compounds known as 8-o-methylated flavonoids. These are flavonoids with methoxy groups attached to the C8 atom of the flavonoid backbone. 2-[2-(5,7-dihydroxy-8-methoxy-4-oxochromen-2-yl)-3-hydroxyphenoxy]-4,5-dihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-3-yl 3-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)prop-2-enoate is found in Scutellaria discolor. 2-[2-(5,7-Dihydroxy-8-methoxy-4-oxo-4H-chromen-2-yl)-3-hydroxyphenoxy]-4,5-dihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-3-yl 3-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)prop-2-enoate is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
