| Description | Sucutinirane A belongs to the class of organic compounds known as naphthofurans. Naphthofurans are compounds containing a furan ring fused to a naphthalene moiety. Furan is a 5 membered- ring aromatic ring with four carbon and one oxygen atoms. Naphthalene is a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon made up of two fused benzene rings. (4as,5s,6as,7r,10ar,11as,11br)-10a-hydroxy-4,4,7,11b-tetramethyl-9-oxo-1h,2h,3h,4ah,5h,6h,6ah,7h,11h,11ah-phenanthro[3,2-b]furan-5-yl acetate is found in Bowdichia nitida. (4as,5s,6as,7r,10ar,11as,11br)-10a-hydroxy-4,4,7,11b-tetramethyl-9-oxo-1h,2h,3h,4ah,5h,6h,6ah,7h,11h,11ah-phenanthro[3,2-b]furan-5-yl acetate was first documented in 2008 (PMID: 18524584). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on sucutinirane A (PMID: 24969572). |
