Description3-[(5-{8-Hydroxy-8-[5-(1-hydroxypentadecyl)oxolan-2-yl]-2-oxooctyl}oxolan-2-yl)methyl]-5-methyl-2,5-dihydrofuran-2-one belongs to the class of organic compounds known as long-chain fatty alcohols. These are fatty alcohols that have an aliphatic tail of 13 to 21 carbon atoms. 3-[(5-{8-hydroxy-8-[5-(1-hydroxypentadecyl)oxolan-2-yl]-2-oxooctyl}oxolan-2-yl)methyl]-5-methyl-5h-furan-2-one is found in Xylopia aromatica. It was first documented in 2022 (PMID: 36068077). Based on a literature review a significant number of articles have been published on 3-[(5-{8-hydroxy-8-[5-(1-hydroxypentadecyl)oxolan-2-yl]-2-oxooctyl}oxolan-2-yl)methyl]-5-methyl-2,5-dihydrofuran-2-one (PMID: 36068076) (PMID: 36068075) (PMID: 36068074) (PMID: 36068073).
